Chazal says that his father Terah was a sculptor, and one day he put Avraham in his shop in his place. A woman came in with a bowl of semolina as a guide for the statues. Avraham took a stick in his hand, broke all the statues in it and left only the large statue between them, and put the stick in his hand. His friends and broke them and took for himself the semolina.

The story described here in a few lines, was told at great length by Dad when we were children. He presented it in a dramatic and fascinating way and very much illustrated the ridicule.
